Refinishing done the way commercial furniture demands it

I bring the same coatings standards I use professionally on cabinets and restaurant furniture to every piece that comes through Wood Rescuer.

What I refinish

Refinishing services

Table and furniture refinishing

Dressers, dining tables, chairs, sideboards, and other solid wood furniture. Old finish stripped back to bare wood, damage repaired, and a new finish built up in coats, not sprayed on thin and called done.

Cabinet refinishing

Kitchen and built-in cabinetry that's worn through its finish but still has good doors and boxes underneath. This is where my day-to-day coatings work overlaps most directly with what I do here: proper prep, the right primer and topcoat system, and a finish that resists grease and daily handling. See the golden oak to modern guide for the full process.

Restaurant and commercial furniture

Tables, chairs, and bar tops that take a beating from daily service. I know what these finishes have to survive because I spend my working life formulating and testing coatings for exactly this kind of use, and I build that durability into every piece.

Repairs before refinishing

Loose joints, cracked veneer, missing hardware, a wobbly leg. If the bones of the piece are still solid, I'll repair it properly before it ever gets near a finish.

Pricing

$85 an hour, labour only

Refinishing is priced at $85/hour for my time, plus materials. Most pieces get a flat quote up front once I've seen photos and know the scope, so there are no surprises. Every dollar of it, labour and sale price both, goes to TAMS Sanctuary.

How it works

From donation to donation

You email me a photo and a few details about the piece. If it's a good fit, we arrange pickup somewhere across the Niagara Region. I strip, repair and refinish it in my own time, then sell it. Every dollar it raises goes to TAMS Sanctuary in Wainfleet.
